I Have a customer asking me he wants to join to lengths of (metal inside) liquid tight conduit ? I am having a hard time finding that coupling

My suggestion would be a 1" 'C' conduit body and a 3/4" x 1" reducing bushing.

C fitting would be my choice. But how about a ridgid coupling with 2 box connectors

Plus a reducing bushing? OP is changing raceway size.

There are some that will claim they are not listed for use with rigid coupling - and are probably correct, though the C body probably isn't properly supported by flexible conduit either - and still may have similar listing issues as the coupling with a fitting inserted instead of threaded RMC or IMC.
