I have a 1900 sq ft condo with 2 SABC's, one laundry circuit, water heater(4.5kw), electric dryer(5kw), electric range, microwave, dishwasher, disposal and an air conditioning load of 4.8kw. Using the optional method, I came up with a feeder load of 96.33A. Any opposing viewpoints?

Doing the "licking my finger and sticking it in the air" method, I'd say that looks pretty good. Now I wonder about the application more.

Basement already finished? Any possible future loads that might need more juice? Are these questions relevant to what you got going on? :)

Small basement is currently unfinished and I can't think of anymore substaintial loads that might be introduced so to remain competitive,I'm bidding this as a 100A service using #2AL SER for the feeders. I know it it at the upper end of capacity and deep down inside I'd like to go with a 125A service using 1/0 but I'd probably lose the job.

Tis better to lose the job than your license. Check with local electric co., as they have a PE on staff or the number for the local inspections office that can tell you what they will accept as well as local/state required codes.

Is this "condo" expandable in any way? Any future plans for hot tub/pool or steam/sauna, those are questions I usually ask everytime I do a service. You would be surprised at the amount of people who say they would like one or have plans for one down the line - depending on the nieghborhood.....

Give them 2 prices, and explain why you think the 125 amp is the better option. If they want it great, if not, they can't come back angry in a few years because they couldn't add hot tub, or whatever.
