I recently had a client who has dormitories at a national monument ask me to verify if they have the capacity to add mini fridges to all of the dormitory rooms. Assuming I can get the specs on the mini fridge, being that the load varies depending on occupants how would I actually be able to give them an accurate answer. I don't want the answer just wondering how to calculate this myself.

I would get the 1-year peak demand data from the utility to see how much head room there is on the service.
Then evaluate the loading on the branch circuits in the dorms.
