Load calcs for a catering hall

Hi all
Got a set of plans today and I think there is some big issues.
The plans are for a catering hall with a small prep kitchen.
My question is
Are you supposed to add both the square footage and the general use receptacle at 180 (360 for duplex )?
Perplexed.

A catering hall is neither dwelling [220.14(J)] nor bank and office [220.14(K)] so there is no square footage receptacle calculation. Only calculation is the not less than 180VA per yoke of 220.14(I).

From there 220.44 says this 220.14(I) load is permitted to be made subject to either Table 220.42 or Table 220.44 demand.

Thanks for the reply.
What if this is part of a church?
Don't you need to add lighting loads from table 220.12?
Did not look at the table before posting, but yes. Also the main sanctuary of the church may have different load density then other parts of the building. Find category in the table that best matches your application.

Well, you need to do a complete load calculation... so yes you add the general lighting load, the receptacle outlets, the specific loads, the motor loads, etc.

Yes the calcs are being done. Just confused as to the results.
Trying to understand it.

So back to my earlier post.
The general lighting load per sqft does that include the individual luminaire or do we add those as a additional and seperate line item?

It includes general lighting luminaire loads. Perhaps it does not pertain to your project but show window, track lighting, outline lighting are figured separate from general lighting. You also need to 'estimate' connected general lighting because you have to use the connected lighting load value if it is greater than the general lighting load value.
