Hello,
I am trying to calculate the correct load to use when sizing my panelboard, branch circuit conductors, & OCPD for a circuit for a specific use. The circuit will be used to charge a trailer with a 50A 125/250v power connection. This trailer, cord & reel assembly will be located in a fire engine bay. NEC 220.44 calls for the first 10 kVA to have a demand factor of 100% and the remainder over 10 kVA to use a demand factor of 50%. The existing 120/240V single phase panel is rated for 100A. Currently there is only 5056 VA connected to this panel, of which 1656 VA is motor loads. I would like to connect two of these 50A cord & reel circuits to this existing panel. How would I go about calculating the total estimated demand load for this panel?
