Load Calculation - Question

I must do a residental load calculation. The home has installed a 9kw Steam
Generator. Is this considered a Special Appliance Load or would it be an
Appliance Fastened in Place ?

I don't know the phrase "Special Appliance Load", though it seems special, as in, not common.

If it is connected to the plumbing system I would consider it fastened in place.

Are you calculating for only the branch-circuit, or the total dwelling unit?

Load Calculation - Question

I am calculating for the entire dwelling unit. Where I said Special Appliance Load maybe it should just be Appliance Load where Ranges, Dryers & Heating or A/C are added to the calculation at nameplate.

I would guess the OP is referring to 220.14(A).

Would that make any difference in the calculation? I would calculate it at face value -- use 9kw.

Under 220.14 I do not see Appliance Fastened in Place. So I'd say it falls under 220.14(A) Specific Appliances or Loads.
