Is there an on line load calculator for houses ? we have on line voltage drop calculators, but I'm having trouble finding a load calculator. We don't have to use the formula to figure voltage drop any more, just type in the distance, amps, and wire type. Is there a load calculator that allows me to just type in 1400 sq ft house, all electric, for example?

Why? You can do the alternative method in about 60 seconds by hand. A spreadsheet/calculator would take that long just finding and starting it. Based on your description you are doing the alternative method anyway, not standard.

Optional method yields about 122 amps. Existing service is 200. Customer wants a new detached 35 x 35 building that will have a woodworking shop and a bathroom. I would like to run 100 amps to it. Is this acceptable ?

Bathroom don't see adding to much over all. The woodworking shop on the other hand can be very power hungry. You need to know the equipment to be used and how much will be operating simultaneously. A one man operation vs several person would mean more machines operating at the same time.
