In a single family dwelling, can the 200 amp main breaker load center be located on the back wall of the garage(opposite the garage door wall)?

Yes. Check with your local building code for other issues, such as protection of physical damage. Here in Florida, barricades are required to block water heaters and air handlers when installed on the back wall from being hit by a vehicle entering the garage..

Bryan i have never seen a panel that required to have a bollard or concrete stop.But thinking of it I bet that might come up :D
