What does is cost to burn 1000w per day?
If the kwh rate is $.08 could the cost be only $1.92 a day?
Is my rate way off?

Simply, yes. The full answer requires the Rate Schedule from the power company that is supplying the energy to the 1000 Watt load.

The general formula you used is accurate enough for estimating purposes. ($ = Watts x Hours Used x kW Rate Per Hour / 1000)

Check to see if there is a demand charge the utility is billing the customer. If so, you could be looking an an additional charge of about $5.00
per kw per month.
