Load Estimation according to NEC

At the beginning of each project we have to estimate the electrical load as per the built up area, i want know the estimated VA/m2 according to NEC for each type of building : residential, commercial, industrial, Schools and Hospital

Please advise

As far as the entire load, you won't find such a number in the NEC due to the vast number or variables (electric vs alternate fuel heat, etc.)
Art 220.12 gives you a minimum lighting load and 220.14 addresses other loads.

Are you working on a bid?

Because you are going at it backwards. You have to do a "Calculated" load study to determine what you need. Keep in mind that the NEC is the "Minimum" standard, not the best you can do.

Now if you are doing a series of track homes, then most often a baseline can be established with in the load calculations on the first three homes.

You also need to be very aware of the spec. on the job, because within the specs. may be a requirement for a piece of equipment the skews the load calculation.

On the commercial side, lighting loads are significantly different than residential. So are receptacles.

Regardless, the the load calculation cannot be rubber stamped, unless every bid you do is for the exact same job.

No, not that I know.

But you can bet the power company has the answer to this question, the difficulty would be finding the right person to ask.
