If your calculated service load is 125amps on a residential house, can you use a 200amp panel box with 125amp service wire? Only with a 125amp meterbase?

Would the panel box need to be marked in some way so that others wouldn't accidentally add additional loads believing it was a 200amp service.

The way I read the OP, I assume he has a 200 amp main breaker which is not compliant. For a single service disconnect, it must be sized to the conductors. Next size up rule IS allowed.

Edit: .....and if it is a 200 amp MB, I see the 125 meter base itself as acceptable as long as the load calc is <= 125. I think 110.3(B) is the best we can do.
