Ok, I have a mobile rockdusting machine, 15 hp 480v. Also a mobile air compressor, 125 hp 480 v enclosed inside of a aluminum box trailer. These units will be utilized from the surface of a coal mine sending air and rockdust down boreholes into the mine.
These are separate units with proper protection requirements in place.

This is going to be a temporary installation utilized for about 3 to 5 months tops.

Here's my question..I will be connecting to a caterpillar gen set with a 2500A breaker serving as the disconnect...I was planning on installing a 200 A fused disconnect(air compressor) and a 60 A fused disconnect (rockduster) directly adjacent to the generator, each supplying a cable to the corresponding unit....with these disconnects located within 6' to 8' from the gen set, what size conductors will have to be installed on the line side of each?

Thanks for the reply, as stated in both MSHA, and WV Mining laws, installations on the surface of underground coal mines shall be compliant with the

current edition of the NEC at the time of installation, all underground scenarios are to comply with the 1968 NEC.

Basically, we can treat this as any other installation in any other industry.

Thanks
