Greetings,

I am installing a remote meter to measure the flow in a pipe. The meter is fed by a 20A, 120 VAC circuit from a remote panelboard. Do I need to install a local disconnect with in the sight of the flow meter to meet the NEC? I know NEC 430.102 requires to install a local disconnect next to the motor but I am not sure if that apply to none motor load?

Thanks in advance.

I agree with AD, a switch would be most useful, and if you are powering up transmitter at the flowmeter, there is likely an enclosure for it or a backboard. Put the switch there. If you have a transmitter, most are small, 8x10 inches or so. Put it in a Hoffman 3R enclosure with a backboard and put the switch in the Hoffman. I don't recommend a NEMA 4 or 4X as you will get a lot of condensation inside those as they are sealed

Thanks. Can you give me a part number for a switch?
