Hello Everyone, I am working a hospital project in which 2 new 200A 120/208v 3phase 4wire (panels located on 2 floor) are being fed from 2 transformers located in an new electric service room on the third floor. What are the requirements for there being a disconnecting means nearby the transformer? For the transformer I did +125% over current protection on the primary side. This overcurrent protection device is a breaker in an existing 277/480v panel. In other words I comply with the overcurrent protection requirements, but is there anywhere in the NEC that says that because the transformer is in a remote location (not near the breaker in the 277 panel, and not near the 120 panel) that there needs to be disconnecting means adjacent to the transformer in case of an emergency.
