I wrestled with the idea of leaving a sticker in the panel for some time. I've seen too many panels with stickers of the original contractor but it's clear a DIY'er or previous homeowner had a hand in things after the original install. Guess who the home/business owner is quick to blame.

The inspectors in our area normally leave the contractors name on the tag with the number of circuits installed/inspected which I think is a good thing, if you can read faded ink.

We leave them on new work. Sometimes the existing work is so shoddy I wouldn't want someone to assume that we did it.

As in representation to my services? No way! Circuit designation? My labeler is far superior than my chicken scratch
But company affiliation? Nope, no way.

You name is on the permit, isn't it?

It was a joke. Of course my name is on it and probably they could easily find out who wired the place. I am not at all woried about a lawsuit. I trust what I do but I don't put stickers on either.

Do you leave a sticker or logo of some sort in a new panel?

Yes, stickers are cheap advertising. I don't worry that people will think that the shoddy work was mine because there are normally a half dozen stickers on the panel. It can take years for a sticker to work but until someone ( Celtic) covers it, it's there. I have covered a few stickers in my time to. Business cards and magnets don't last that long and normally get tossed.

Why wouldn't you want a sticker? Most people start to worry who to call when they have an electrical problem and there is your number right in front of them. If it looks old so much the better, at least they will know you have been around for a few years if it looks new they may think it's still under warranty.

I voted never because future work might make me look bad.

Case in point. This mess has a "mr Electric" sticker on it.

I have seen stickers on some NASTY stuff. I would HATE to see my sticker show up here some day after who knows who has added to it.

Yeah. I have a handful of magnets with the company logo and phone #, and I put them on the panel.... when I think of it.....
I don't think of it most of the times, but when I do, I put one on. Lately I have gotten in the habit of handing out a biz card and a magnet on every estimating visit. e/m

is that an indoor panel and a regular raised cover installed outside? I can't tell. It's an odd mix of 3R/non-3R stuff.

This is actually inside a garage but there were/are PLENTY of them installed outside here in AZ until the late 60's. I guess they figured that 7" of rain a year wouldn't do any damage :)

This was certainly an odd mix :)
