Looking for national permit expediter recommendations

We're in the market for a new national permit expediter. The company we currently use is not actually benefitting us. We file in about 20 states regularly, plus NYC and multiple NY counties. We typically use a local NY expediter for these.

I'm hoping someone has some recommendations.
 
Is this like Search Engine Optimization, or is there really room for an expediter to somehow (legally) inflluence the permit process?
 
Seems like most of what "expediters" do is to make sure that all the t's are crossed and that you're not asking for something whacky or not allowed in that area. When they submit the application, the permit office can assume that most of it is right.

Not influence. But know that process foe different localities. NYC is a pain. Long Island is worse. We file in hundreds of towns, all slightly different
