Hello experts,
Since I am no way expert in electrostatic field specially in Partial Discharge phenomenon but I am eager to learn. I have been reading IEEE 497 and IEC 60270 but I am failing to grasp few items such as:
1- what is the acceptable value of PD?
2- is PD measured in millivolts or in picocoulombs or both?
3- Since, we are in North America, should we refer to IEEE 497 or IEC 60270 or both.
I am looking for a practical field document explaining PD in transformers, cables, motors etc. Can anyone share or point me which book or document I can read to further understand the concept.
Thank you in advance for your comments.
