Arithmetic average. If you have voltage measurements of 110, 112, and 117, the mean is (110 + 112 + 117) /3, or 113. In what context have you come across this term?

Mean voltage is voltage that is not very nice.
Seriously, I would bet you are actually looking for "root-mean-square", or the effective voltage fo the circuit.
Or mean as in an intermediate value between the greatest and least value.
