Does the code require low point drains inside buildings? Our specifications doesn't differentiate between inside vs outside, it just says to provide the low point drains in the conduit systems.

The code requires raceways installed on the outside of buildings to be arranged to drain. (225.22 and 230.53)

But I don't know of a section in the code that requires conduit installed within a building to be arranged to drain.

its maybe a good idea. there tends to be a fair amount of condensation inside some conduit systems, and it is a good idea to find a place for it to drain off.

in many cases the draining ends up being into boxes and devices, unintentionally. i have seen a few cases where the bottom of an enclosure has a small amount of standing water in it, and the only thing I could come up with is it got there through the conduit somehow.

i have seen a case where dust got into the conduit and traveled around too.
