I have a customer who wants under-cabinet lighting with as low a profile as possible. ( she doesn't want to see the light) The bottom of the cabinet is recessed about ?". She would also prefer LED if possible.
However, she is adamant about not haveing boxes inside the cabinets, so no receptacles or J-boxes.

Do any of you have any suggestions, or products you have used?

IMO, the only time you would see the actual fixture is if you bent over and looked under the upper cabinet, (who the heck does that?) with that said I love and always sell NSL's Xeon Undercabinet lights.

Don't you ever sit down at the table?

Yes Xenons are the way to go. Only problem I have ever had was the woman who left them on all night and the next morning the bottom of her bread in the cabinet above the light was "toasted". I had her leave them on for a couple of hours and did a temp. check. About 109 degrees. Anybody else had this problem?

If at all possible, a match strip of wood at the front edge of the cabinets hides those unsightly lights.

The lights I linked to have a patened cooling system that works. the cabinet above does not heat at all. I wouldn't sell those NSL lights to anyone I installed them twice. JMO

Sorry Gene but speed doesn't kill bad driving does.

Most cabinet makers also make a panel that can be placed under the wall cabinets. It's tricky to cut correctly, but looks smashing when done properly.

bikeindy: Bad driving doesn't kill. It's the damage caused by internal organs being smashed against a persons' rib cage or muscular system that kills.

You could use these sockets.

With these LED festoon style bulbs. Be sure to use a DC power supply or the light color will be an ugly gray. I've got a little undercabinet light display I built with different lighting types, including fluorescent, halogen, xenon and LED. I can show customers the different lighting colors and brightness by flipping switches.

Hello all, anyone have a suggestion for in cabinet lighting for a 120v feed?
I have all the dedicated runs to each cabinet but the customer thinks the nsl xeon 9" is to thick. Any ideas?
Thanks

OP, go to a office supply store and get an under shelf flourscent - single bulb unit, your basis desk lamp.
The glow is soft enough you'll just have to deal with a cord, and you could even wire them together. It's low profile...
