I'm bidding a remodel job for 1 condo in a 29 story building. All the new or relocated wiring for lights and receptacles will obviously be in emt or MC cable.
The job is calling for low voltage puck type lights in niches and in kitchen cabinets. The transformers will be located in adjacent closets or storage areas.
The dropped ceiling areas where the low voltage cable has to be run is also the return air plenum space for the central air conditioning.
What type of low voltage cable can I run that will be code compliant concealed in the walls and in the air plenum? The lights will be fed from a Class 2 transformer.

The PLENUM SPACE is addressed in NEC 2011 Article 300.22 and in 2012 IMC (International Mechanical Code) 602.2.1.1. Use wiring with a flame spread index <25 (Plenum rated). You can then do very little wrong.:happyyes:
