Low Voltage Conduit

Can someone give me a ruling on whether low voltage wire needs to be installed in conduit in the city of Chicago? I seem to get a different answer from everyone I talk to.

I am sure if you are going up or through walls you must us conduit but its unclear if you must use conduit in the cieling.

The only ruling you are going to get is by reading the local code although someone from Chicago will give you some advice.
