Where does it say in the NEC 2008 anything about running a DC pump directly from a 10watt PV Panel. We use a 10watt 12volt .59amp PV panel to run a small DC pump on a solar water heating system. Wired direct from panel to pump. Building officials in South Fla. say that its not code,refering to NEC2008. We have done this for years BUT now its an issue. Both manufaturers have no problem with the application. Looking for some direction. Thank You,

Your not giving us much to go on (especially since I am not familiar with PV systems and installations :D).

Did officials cite any article or section?

Can you provide more details as to the wiring method... size, type of wire, cable and or conduit, any means of disconnect, any wiring inside, etc...
