Low Voltage Exam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has had to retake the Connecticut L6 Low voltage exam...I work for a Fire Protection company and was given the go ahead from the State to sit for the Test, I went to a Pre - Test training class...And sat for the Test test on the Monday right after the class, I failed the test by (2) questions....I found this web site and ordered the Low Voltage book, in the descripition, It says it is good for the low voltage exam....I'm waiting for the book to arrive...I hope that with this book I will be able to pass the Exam...In Connecticut the L6 license covers nothing about what I do, I have never installed anything to do with Fiber, CCTV, Data and Voice....I have only done Fire alarm & Suppression systems...

Can some one tell me if this above book will assist me In passing this Test....

I have used the text in two classes and its very complete. Almost too much...
Just think when you pass all the additional knowledge and work you can do.
Actually all the LV methods are similar and the text will help you see that.

I took the weekend class, than I took the test that Monday morning, I failed got 19 of the 21 questions that I needed to pass....I install Fire suppression systems there is really no questions on this test about what I do, The class at IMTI covers CAT5, DATA, Voice, CCTV, I have never done anything with this type of equip....I purch Mike Holt's book for Low Voltage, I have just started studying, And Hope to be able to re-take the test in January....

Thanks for the Response, I will let the Board know How I do.....
