Installing Low voltage (24v) switching in outdoor application. Wiring is installed in 1/2" PVC and switches are installed in 2-gang bell box. Inspector is requiring bonding the box to grounding conductor. Can anyone help find this in the NEC. Thanks
Bryan, We are switching high-bay lighting operating at 240v-ac through a lighting- contactor, with a control voltage of 24v. The low voltage switching circuit is derived from a transformer (primary voltage @120v - secondary 24v). The installation is located in Sonoma County California.
Based on your reply, the answer would be no. There is no EGC provided with the circuit, thus the box need not be bonded. Sorry for the long delay in posting back...
