Question from one of my classes - I want to throw out to the forum
With Cable Tray (B Line 6" Ready Rail) will have in it "low voltage" such as radio coax, Class 2 alarm cables.
Also need a power and lighting branch circuit, 120/240 volts running in the same tray.
When is a divider needed?
For example, MC cable can be run with out a divider, and no separation is required- MC cable is a chapter 3 wiring method, same with AC, NM.

But what about tray cable (Art 336) which is also a chapter 3 wiring method?
For example, a 14-2 w/ ground jacketed tray cable?

Is the divider needed with conductors and not cables? A divider would be needed with single conductor tray cable, such as 4AWG.

Tom,
I think that you need a barrier if the low voltage circuits are Class 2 or 3 circuits. There are no exceptions to 725.55(H). The only options are to use a barrier or MC cable for the low voltage circuits.
