when calculating feeder loads per NEC Article 220.II, does article 220.12(B) apply (150 VA/2 feet)? I think article 220.4(B) applies - use rating of transformer in load calculation. I just wnated to get some thoughts on this topic. Thanks

Re: low voltage light track

They are two related items. Article 410 XV states that the track is not to be overloaded. Article 220.3.C advises that ballast or transformer loads are to be included, not just the lamp wattage. Article 220.12 lists the wattage per foot. If you install track and don't know what heads will end up on it, then the 150 watt should be used. If you are exceeding the allowance, suggest you use 125% of the installed. As the track circuit will go to a panel, you need to consider the total loads. If you have 4' of track in an office, and a lightly loaded panel, that's one thing. If you have a stage or large retail and lots of track, you need to think it through.
