Hi all,
This is regarding table 680.8 under the 2008 NEC code cycle... We have existing low voltage cables (inside conduits) that run across a new indoor pool. According to section 680.8(C), we need to follow table 680.8 for conductors operating at 0 to 750 volts to ground, to determine the clearance required above the water level. The title of that column on the table reads "Insulated Cables, 0-750 Volts to Ground, Supported on and Cabled Together with a Solidly Grounded Bare Messenger or Solidly Grounded Neutral Conductor"... if the cables are in conduit, does this section even apply?

Thanks!

These conduits must run on the ceiling above the pool? What is the voltage, you say low voltage to a lineman, 120 volts is low voltage.

Yes, the conduits are running above the pool, they run tight to the ceiling. Voltage... either 12 or 24 volts. I'm assuming since the cables are inside conduit, table 680.8 doesn't apply... which means the conduits can be at any level / height above the pools water level. can anyone concur?
