Low Voltage Product (Battery powered) in a duct.

What are the requirements for a low voltage (battery powered) device in a supply duct feeding only one room?

Does the device require a listing? (UL 60730)

Does it require the "for use in environmental spaces" statement (UL 2043 testing)

This question mainly is asking about the 300.22 plenum/duct requirements.

Any insight would be great.

If it is not part of the electrical installation (say it is a battery powered smoke detector) I don't think the NEC covers it.

On a larger view, why put something battery operated inside a duct? Guaranteed service call revenue every few months?
