NEC Code 552.10, Low Voltage Systems. Section E(4) states the overcurrent protective device shall be installed in an accessible location on the unit within 450 mm (18") of the point where the power supply connects to the unit circuits. In our application, we have the battery cables route to an enclosed power distribution box and connect to a bus bar. The distance is > 18 inches. At that point protection devises are connected right at the bus bar and route to the vehicles circuits. This distance is < 18 inches. Do we meet the intent of the NEC code or not?
