I have always thought the NEC caps the length of seal tight, carflex, liquid tight, to 6’. But I’ve seen people run it for greater distances. It would be very helpful to run the stuff a long distance for services or sub panels or generators. Can anyone clear this up? I know Larry Fine knows the answer to this I just hope he sees the post! Lol.

Read 356.10 Uses Permitted and 356.12 Uses Not Permitted. It tells you that one type (LFNC-B) can be used in lengths over 6', and others if absolutely needed for flexibility.

Don't see any length limits for other types of flex unless it is smaller than 1/2".

Perhaps you're confusing it with the rule that you can only run it unsupported if 6' or less? Or that it needs a separate EGC if longer than 6'?

EGC of course would be an issue with metallic conduits, non metallic will always need one at any length, but I agree that 6 foot EGC rule and the places where 6 feet with no additional supports are allowed seem to make people think you can never run any kind of flex longer than six feet.
 
I read 356 and somehow skipped over the line 356.10 (5). Thank you everyone. I think pulling through it with individual wires is ok as long as you keep the bends under 360 degrees and use pull boxes. It may not be the standard method but in a pinch could be a good option know that I know you can exceed 6 feet with the right version.

word of advice if your going to actually use it for long lengths, oversize it and don’t go past 180% of bend. I am sure others have different opinions.
