Lutron Pico remote mounting

What is the best way to mount these little guys? They don't technically need a box but it almost seems like that is the easiest mounting solution.

Anybody come up with a good way that does not involve cutting a box into the wall?

They make a wall plate mount for those that just sticks to the wall, and uses a standard decora plate to cover it.

Here are the plates and it shows a pico install to the backplate. Just fasten to the wall and put a cover plate on it

Are those a 3rd party? All the Lutron's I have used are clear and have square corners.

Yes, I think they are but that's what came up so I posted it rather than look for the others

You should use the screwless plates

Are you removing the upper plastic piece from the bracket? It needs to be removed for direct wall mounting or the bracket will not sit flat on the wall.

If you buy the package deal of switch and remote, the mounting bracket is usually included, other wise, about $7 to buy it separate.
