M.C. hangers?

I saw these for the first time yesterday, I don't work with mc that often so I don't know. These seem to use the tie wires that the lights and the suspended cieling are tied

to.

Yes I agree, looks like heavy tie wire with "bat wings", AKA Caddy KX's. It works if the AHJ accepts it.

Yup,"bat wings". Don't you love all the great slang terms we have for material . According to people who have travelled, many of these terms are regional. One of my favorites is for Minerallac straps which are called "mini's" in the east and "cowboy's" in the west. (I started calling them cowboys right after I heard that.)

yup. i've seen this done a lot, and if the ceiling wire is not anchored at the bottom
end, so it's taut, the wire bends over time, and the bat wings fly away.

and cut in box anchors are called "battleships".
and it goes on, and on.

and we won't even get into what the other tradespeople
are sometimes called.....
