At our school they are going to start a machine shop. There is going to be around 15 pieces of equipment. It looks like the largest motors are 3 hp and are 230/460 volt three phase. The motors draw 8 amps at 230 volts. The voltage available is 208 three phase. I know that motors are typically designed to run off of plus or minus 10%. I am wondering if several of these pieces of equipment are running at the same time if you think that it would cause a significant amount of voltage drop to cause issues with the equipment. I am not worried about the length of the conductors. I can guess as well as anyone so I prefer comments from people that may have experience with this and whether it will cause any issues.

Won't this little machine voltage rate difference effect calculated material removal rates?
