Just thought I would share this for those who don't know about it. I am sure most of you do know.

I had a detached carport about 30' from the house. The owners wanted a flood on the carport that they could turn on from the house and at the carport.

We wired a simple sp switch setup to the flood- fed the box and then switched out to the floods. We installed a Maestro wireless switch and then bought 2- Pico wireless handheld remotes. One remote went to the car the other gets mounted to the wall with a specific back plate and a standard Decora 1 gang plate. No wires and it looks just like any other switch without having to cut in a box.

Simply and easy. The Maestro was $60 and the Pico was $17. No digging to get wires from one place to the other and it works like a charm

While I basically understand what you did, how you wrote it up doesn't make a whole lot of sense. :happysad:

Is the flood fixture at the carport or house shining at the carport? If at the carport, two-wire circuit already there?

My problem is English is my first language....

The flood is at the carport as well as the sp maestro wireless switch. The Pico remote is mounted to the wall with a decora plate. The carport had power but if I used a standard 3 way I would have to get wiring back to the house. No need for that.

If there was no power at the carport then you would have to mount the flood on the house and use the wireless Pico at the carport

The pico looks like this when mounted to the wall. It canalso be used as a handheld remote if you choose.
