Ive searched the internet for info on magnetic door holders they use for the fire alarm systems. I would like to learn more abou them (fire alarm etc) any one have a link?

Not much to say, they can be magnets located on the wall to hold the door open or they can be incorporated into the door closer.

They come in 24 VDC or 120 VAC, a typical application is to hold doors open in hallways for the convenience factor but to have them shut during a fire for smoke and flame control.

Is there anything in particular your looking for?

They're just electro-magnets. As long as power is applied to them, they create a magnetic field which holds on to a metal plate attached to the door.

During an alarm, power is removed, the field collapses and the door closers, well, close the door.
