Hello
Are you installing a door bell system such as Nutone make. The type where a visitor could press a button to announce themselves and then you could press another button to release the latch on the door for them to enter.

or

The cipher lock type that are installed as a security device with a keypad and large magnetic plate mounted at the head of the door.

I have installed both many times.

Thanks. Fran

thank you Fran for your response, but I think I need to explain myself better. This magnetic door release are install inside buildings where in case of fire all the doors in the halls are close so the fire doesn't spread easily to the rest of the building. This magnets are on all the time, so they hold the doors open but as soon there is a signal either from the Smoke detectors or Fire panel they release the doors, so they close by mechanical means.(springs, etc)

The manufacturer of the F/A system will be able to help, you may also need additional power supplies controlled from the F/A system to run this many door holders.

I think I've put in some Stanley magnetic door holders before. Pretty sure they were Stanley. I know that Edwards is popularly specified.

Ok, now I'm on the same page, you can also try Corbin and Rixson.

There are others as well, do a google search for Magnetic door holders

did you know that firex is not listed for commercial applications?

? This smoke alarm is designed to be used inside a single-family
household. In multi-family buildings, each individual living unit should
have its own alarms. It is not a substitute for a complete commercial alarm
system. It should be used only as supplemental protection in hotels,
motels, dormitories, hospitals, nursing homes, or group homes.

You would find more info here. http://www.firexsafety.com/NR/rdonl...819-A5E3555C2893/0/110761GEnglish46185000.pdf
