I was reading about Magnetic wire
Magnetic wire definition: a fine wire made from a magnetizable metal and used for wire recording.

Could someone please shine some more light on Magnetic wire and its use?
I'll keep reasearching on my end. Thanks

Only thing that comes to mind is that there is a major difference between magnetic wire and magnet wire, and wondering which you are really interested in...

Magnet wire?Magnet wire is a copper or aluminum wire covered with thin insulation. It is used in the construction of transformers, inductors, motors, headphones, loudspeakers, hard drive head positioners, potentiometers, and electromagnets, among other applications. However, it is not usually magnetic itself.

The wire itself is most often fully annal-ed, electrolytically refined copper. Aluminum magnet wire is sometimes used for large transformers and motors?

I thought perhaps it was magnetic itself but upon further research? I was contradicted. LOL.

Please feel free to send any info regardless.

Thanks JJ

I read that and wondered what wire recording meant?

The only magnet wire I know about is the varnished stuff they rewind motors and transformers with. Comes in weird sizes, like 13 gauge, 5 gauge, etc.
