200A residential service, drops to meter, then to outside WP fused disconnect, then load side of disc. travels through crawl space to 200A main breaker panel.

Q: Does code section 250.24(B) allow you to bond the neutral at the panel board instead of at the outside disconnect switch? Or must it be bonded outside ONLY?

Re: Main Bonding Jumper Location

Actually I think 250.24 (A) indicates that the GEC and the Grounded Conductor must be connected at any point form the service point up to the service disconnect.

(A) (5) reads (5) Load-Side Grounding Connections. A grounding connection shall not be made to any grounded circuit conductor on the load side of the service disconnecting means except as otherwise permitted in this article.

I do not believe the installation you have described will allow the GEC to be connected to the Grounded Conductor down stream at the panel.

250.24(B) For a Grounded system, an unspliced main bonding jumper shall be used to connect the EGC(s) and the SERVICE DISCONNECT enclosure to the grounded conductor within the enclosure for each service disconnect in accordance with 250.28.

Re: Main Bonding Jumper Location

You need to install main bonding jumper at first means of disconnect, which would be your outside disconnect. Your panel inside is called a sub panel,at that one you float the neutrals. Install equipment grounds to the ground bar tied to the panel case. Code 408.3C

That's what I thought I was hoping I had found an allowance to put it in the panel instead...
