Main breaker in a sub panel

Hello,
I was recently on a job in which the main panel had a 2 pole 60 amp breaker feeding #6/3 wire going to a sub panel in a detached building on the same property. However the sub panel had a 2 pole 100 amp main breaker, is this legal according to the NEC?

Yes. The conductors are protected by the 60 and the 100 is simply a disconnect means as required by 225,31 & .32.

Yeah, think of that 100A breaker as an overpriced switch.
