Main Breaker Vs. Input Breaker

Dumb question but can someone break down the differences between these (2) breakers? thanks.

All I can offer is that I have heard of the first, but not the second. My guess is that the second is a slang term for the first. Do you have a context in which you have seen the two terms used to describe separate entities?

I have an input breaker coming in from a paralleling gen set.

I have a main breaker feeding a PHM MV Switching Cabinet

and

a Tie breaker feeding another utility entrance switchgear.

All of this is located within one Utility Service Entrance Switchgear.
