Minimum size main overcurrent protection device in main distribution panel if panel is rated for 100% loading. Load is a total of 810 amps. Round down to 800 amp main breaker or round up to 1000 amp breaker? I am pretty sure that we round up to 1000 amp breaker. Correct?

if your load exceeds the rating of the OCPD, it may trip, so I would be going up.

having said that, if the 810A load is a calculated load according to NEC guidelines, it will probably never go anywhere near 800A.
