I have a 2 Family home with 2 separate 200 amp meter sockets with main breaks and each of them have service drops. My customer wants a 2 gang meter with main breakers and replace the 200 panels. What would be the size of the main service cable coming in to the new 2 gang meter socket? I have torn the NEC apart and im just missing it obviously

You probably would need to perform a load calculation to use one set of service entrance conductors to feed the meter stack or 400 amps worth of conductor.

I'm pretty sure you only have to size service to carry existing load.one inspector in our area would require service sized for 300 amps. 75% of possible total of 2 200 amp panels.if push came to shove in arbitration, i don't think he could enforce it.it's a good way of providing for future loads
