I have a simple question.
I have a 800A main disconnect switch to serve the building. This switch is located next to exterior wall and rated for NEMA 3R. However, the contractor told us that there is a hose bib under this switch. We want to relocate the hose bib. What is the minimum distance away from the switch should we locate the hose bib?

How does the hose bib infringe on the clearance for the switch? An 800 amp switch extends out from the wall.

It may be considered that the hose bib is in the electrical space. It would depend on if the working space is determined from the front of the disconnect or the back wall surface...

If the panel is indoors, the hose bibb would be a violation of 110.26(F)(1).

Don, just for sake of conversation, what if per the contract documents the hose bib was shown as the bonding location for the water system as in 250.104, could we say it is part of the electrical installation? ;)
