Maintenance Disconnect

I am looking at some one line diagrams and there are panels feeding "maintenance disconnects". Has anyone run into these and what are they used for?

They sound like typical local fused or non-fused disconnect switches for de-energizing equipment.

Do you know what load I would need to assign these "maintenance disconnects"? A general receptacle can be assigned 180 VA although it can handle more amps so I am hoping I can lower some of these100A disconnects from the load calculation. After doing more digging through pictures I found that the disconnects have no load side and are switched off. I assume they are maybe used to power 480V tools used for maintenance?

A disconnect that has no load side connection should not be included in a load calc, IMO. It’s just “spare equipment.”
