Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs Florida Registered Electrician license (ER) master level electrical work, training, equipment installation, preventive maintenance services, troubleshoots systems, performs hands-on on Master level electrical field work for projects, repairs and services in County owned facilities on a regular basis to ensure optimal operating condition and safety.
  • Ensures that all County generators and transfer switches are functioning properly and ready for immediate use.
  • Monitors Commercial Photovoltaic Solar Power Systems for performance efficiency, maintenance, and repair.
  • Pulls Permits and estimates material, time, and labor requirements for projects.
  • Ensures all work is performed in compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reads, interprets and/or utilizes blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and technical/electrical manuals.
  • Maintain records and reports, e.g., project records, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) / Maximo, parts inventory, supply lists, work orders.
  • Coordinates with contracted vendors and suppliers, as well as third party contractors on projects to ensure safety, efficiency, and time savings.
  • Manage training and mentorship programs for department employees.
  • Perform labor-intensive work which may include exposure to confined areas, extreme weather, fumes, chemicals, and/or loud noises.
  • Responds to on-call and after-hours emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Three (3) years electrical work experience at the Master Electrician or equivalent level.

Miscellaneous: Must possess valid State of Florida Registered Electrician license (ER) at a master level or Florida Certified Electrical Contractor (EC) Electrician license.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
