What methods are there for testing of SPD and TVSS?

Some TVSS mfrs also sell a test kit with their units(could be smoke and mirrors??).There is also generic test eqpt Velonex etc. that can test according to IEEE 587 and any new tvss test specs.

In addition standard EPM practices, vacuum the interior verify all connections are tight (check for re-torque values), check cable ties on power wiring for dry rot and replace, check conductors for abrasions, verify installation complies with manufacture, NEC and industry standards.
