Any body tried out the new Makita 40/80 ?
I have not. I really wish it would be interchangeable with the 18v . Looks like it's not going to though.

I wonder is it meant to replace the current 36 volt line which uses 2- 18 volt batteries

Not sure about that . But I'm thinking some tools may have two 40s. Dewalt is doing something similar.

What's weird is HD does not have them here yet. But a little Amish owned hardware store way out in the middle of no where has all the brand new line tools.
Seems like I remember seeing New style Makita tools 20 years ago in a little country hardware store up near Brevard NC.
They must try out some of their new inventions before they commit.
