Man bashes, burns electrical box on streetlamp, police say

I have NO idea what the cops are saying, but here is what was reported:

A Jersey City man was arrested this morning after attacking a streetlamp electrical box with a baseball bat in an apparent attempt to break into it and then setting it on fire, officials said. Willie Hill, 34, of Garfield Avenue, was arrested at the corner of Fulton and Ocean avenues at just after midnight and charged with arson, reports said, and firefighters put out the fire.

A witness told police Hill was hitting the box with the bat at Woodlawn and Garfield avenues and then torched it, reports said, adding that the witness said Hill had attacked the same electrical box with a bat about six months earlier.
The area of the fire smelled of an accelerant, possibily gasoline, reports said.
The witness said Hill had been carrying a blue laundry bottle and a similar bottle was found in a nearby garbage can, reports said, adding that a sample of the liquid in the bottle is being sent for testing.

....makes a little more sense when you read the full article

Maybe the light was keeping him up at night?

I pulled the bulbs out of one once. The light was supposed to be flashing red, but it got stuck. Cars would back up and start honking. The light was about 50 yds from my bedroom. I reported it twice, and then went out with a stepladder and unscrewed he bulbs. To me that seemed reasonable. I think the arson is a little over the top

Oh no.

Oh no.

What are we coming to? I'll leave you with a funny, yet very real story.

Years ago, when I was on a bench doing electronics, we had a disgruntled employee.

He got let go and weeks later, drove his SAAB right through the front door into the customer service center, (2nd shift, thank god). This was in Greensboro, NC. He drove through a double door, and made it through six cubicles. He got out, sheilding a machete and gas can. Proceeded to light the plant managers desk on fire, proceeded to the schematics room, set it a blaze, then went on a rampage with his machete.

After being questioned by the cops, he told them his shift supervisor had secretly implanted an IC in his recent dental work and drove him crazy. It was all Willie's fault. Willie had him programmed! No, you don't have to guess, he pleaded insanity. We were right next to an airport. I initially thought a small aircraft had fallen onto the building,.....NOPE!!!! We all gathered in the back parking lot, where to gather the shift supervisor carried a hand piece in his car. I was one of the last one's out, and had it pointed at my head. We had a couple of cells for AC and DC drives, he wrecked them as well as many other things.

Explain that one to your customers!!!!!!!!!

Now I do my own dental work.

And of course, all of the hot shots at work said they should of stayed inside and flattened him. If you have a guy, totally off of his rocker with a machete, and gas can in his hands, how many gonads do you carry? So I retrieve, only to have a pistol brandished at me??? I made it home with clean underwear. How? I don't know! We only caught 5 minutes of public news for one night.
I'll never forget it as long as I live.
D*mn dentists:rolleyes: :-?
