we usually order the manholes and the company that makes them delivers them. we have the excavation contractor dig the hole and help us set them. the company that makes the manholes also has a crane on there trucks so they set them for us. all they do is lift them in place and we have to level them and square them and all that stuffanbm said:Dump question: who will make and install the manhole? Is it electrical contractor or civil contractor or general contractor?

It's a PERSON hole cover. :grin:drbond24 said:It's a MAINTENANCE hole. Manhole is discriminatory.
I'm kidding, but someone once seriously told me that.
I'm my admittedly limited experience, if the manhole is for electrical cables, the electrical contractor provides it and sees to the installation.
it does take a lot of coordination to properly install these. usually we deal with the GC, excavating company, precast company and power company on one of these installs. its pretty easy to do it looks tougher than it actually is. doesnt really matter of the manhole is below grade they usually build up the cover with bricks laterDanZ said:It's a PERSON hole cover.:roll: I heard that on Late Night with David Letterperson.

Back to the topic, I think this is the sort of thing that is going to take a lot of talking between subs and field coordination.
